So you’re thinking of buying a new iPhone. Unless your phone’s gone completely caput and you need something right now, you have a lot of options to consider. For one, the iPhone 7 is on the horizon. While we don’t know a lot about the upcoming phone, it’s clear that Apple plans to release the phone around Fall this year. Is it worth the wait? That depends on your situation and what you’re looking for.

What Features Will the iPhone 7 Have?

Again, we know little about the iPhone 7. But what we do know is that the iPhone plans to offer users a variety of intriguing new features. For one, the 7 will apparently feature a stronger processor, a dual lens camera, and the option of two screen sizes. It’s even believed that the iPhone 7 will do away with the headphone jack.

This means you need to consider whether these are features you are looking forward to. Your phone should fit your needs. If the iPhone 7 doesn’t appeal to you, you don’t necessarily have to run out and buy it when it hits stores. The important thing is what you want. Now, granted, the iPhone 7 may improve on many features fans weren’t happy with when it came to previous iterations of the iPhone. Consider keeping an eye out on future announcements to get a sense of what the iPhone 7 will offer.

I Need a Phone Right Now

If you need a phone right now, you don’t necessarily need to wait for the 7. Depending on how desperate you are, you may want to consider buying an older iPhone model such as a 4s or a 5. That way, if you do decide to upgrade to a 7, you won’t be blowing hundreds of dollars on a 6 or a 6s. Just consider if you want to replace your iPhone later on to decide what model to buy.

If I Have to Buy an Older Phone, What’s Best for Me?

If you need or want to buy an older phone, consider which model is best for you. Let’s take the iPhone 4 and the 4s for instance. While still a solid phone, you may not like how slow the phone can feel thanks to the latest operating system updates. You’ll also be missing out on Apple Pay, Touch ID, and a lot of other neat, notable features that came along in later models.

Consider an iPhone 5s. Not only can they keep up with iOS 9 but they also allow you to use features like Touch ID, which was introduced with this line. They’re also decently sized and sturdy, making them one of the best phones you can get now, period.

Now if you want a larger phone or have the ability to take better photos or videos, you may just want to consider the iPhone 6 or 6s. It won’t come as cheap as other models do but you’ll definitely get what you’re paying for.

The big thing is considering what features you like and how much you’re willing to spend on a new phone.

But the truth is, it all depends on how long you’re willing to wait for a new phone. If you have all the time in the world, at least hang around to see what the iPhone 7 will come with. Apple just may be planning on doing a lot of great, radical things with the iPhone 7, making buying one a natural choice for the Apple fan in desperate need of an upgrade
